Description

Weyhill Lodge is a large house dating to 1815 and 1850. Constructed of stucco with a slate roof, the original central section exhibits a simple classical design. The north front is symmetrical, featuring two storeys and a 1-1-1 window arrangement. It has a hipped roof, plain walls, an eaves moulding, plain pilasters, a slightly-projecting centrepiece, a first-floor band, a plinth, an architrave to the central upper window, and ground-floor windows with cornices on brackets. Victorian sash windows are set in reveals. The doorway is distinguished by Ionic columns set within pilasters, a simple entablature, a blocking course, a fanlight, and a half-glazed door. A taller extension was added around 1850 to the west side, with a symmetrical west elevation incorporating a projecting unit with Ionic columns to the entrance. A lower east block features a north front of three windows and a longer east elevation. This section has a hipped slate roof, plain walls, and a mix of sash and casement windows.
