Description
This building is a barn located 50 yards north-west of Court Farmhouse, dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed from coursed rubble with freestone quoins and dressings, topped with a double Roman tiled roof featuring coped raised verges on moulded kneelers. The barn has two storeys.
On the south-east elevation, there is a central plank door with strap hinges that have open scroll ends, framed by a chamfered ashlar surround beneath a moulded cornice. Above the door, there is a keyed oval pitching-eye set in a hollow chamfered surround, along with two loft doors that are in rebated and chamfered surrounds.
The south-west gable features two partly blocked windows with rebated and chamfered surrounds, a blocked keyed oval pitching-eye in the attic, and a plain door in a chamfered surround. On the north-west elevation, there are six 2-light cross windows on the ground floor, also in rebated and chamfered surrounds; the outer two windows are partly blocked and used as doors. The first floor has six keyed oval pitching-eyes in hollow chamfered surrounds.
To the north-east, there is a cartshed and loft extension that includes a square-headed carriage entry and an outer flight of nine steps leading to a loft door.
