Description

This stable, located 20 metres east of Oakhanger Farmhouse, was built in 1814. It is constructed of ashlar malmstone with brick quoins and features cambered arches. The stable has plain casements and doors, topped with a hipped tiled roof. The building is rectangular and has a symmetrical north elevation, which is two storeys high and includes two hayloft doors above two windows, spaced between three doorways. The other elevations are plain, with the long rear (south) wall facing the roadway made of yellow ironstone and brick quoins, featuring a central stone plaque inscribed with "BTA 1814."
