Description
This stable, located about 5 yards east of Netherton Farmhouse, dates back to 1761 as indicated by a tablet. It is constructed from squared sandstone rubble with sandstone dressings and features a corrugated iron roof. The building has three bays aligned east to west and consists of two levels. Each floor has two square-headed openings with a central doorway; the ground floor openings have voussoirs above them, while the upper openings leading to the lofts have holes for diamond oak mullions. There are tallet stairs on the left-hand gable. Inside, the stable features cambered collar trusses. This structure is noted for its group value as a rare local example of a dated stable.
