Description
This stable, built in the late 18th century and altered in the 19th century, is located approximately 15 meters west of Little Bernithan Farmhouse. Constructed from sandstone rubble with a metal roof, it has a rectangular plan oriented north-west to south-east. The stable features three bays and two storeys, with a blocked central doorway on the east side facing the farmhouse, which is not included in this listing. Flanking the doorway are two square-headed windows, and to the west side, there is a doorway with a cambered brick head and a window above it. The south-east gable end displays five rows of nesting boxes with plain alighting tables. Inside, the structure has collar-and-tie-beam trusses with inclined struts, making it a picturesque example of an agricultural building.
