Description

This building is a stable located approximately 20 meters northwest of The Home Farmhouse, dating from the mid to late 19th century. It features Flemish bond brick walls with granite sills, window jambstones, mullions, and lintels. The roof is made of dry Delabole slate over a gabled entrance, although it was felted at the time of the survey on June 13, 1985, in preparation for reslating. The structure has gable ends and a rectangular single-depth plan, consisting of a central tack room flanked by two identical stables or loose boxes on each side, designed in a Tudor style.

The stable is a single storey with a symmetrical southeast front that has two bays on either side of a central bay. It features a plinth and a central projecting bay with a 4-centred doorway that has an original ledged door, flanked by square-headed single-light chamfered windows. The gable above has a wide verge with a shaped and pieced bargeboard. To the left of the entrance, there is a 2-light chamfered mullioned window and a similar window. The right side mirrors this arrangement with a window, doorway, window, and doorway. All these doorways have 4-centred brick arches and are currently blocked with brick. Two mullions, located far left and right of the entrance, are missing. The interior was not inspected, but the building is noted as a well-planned 19th-century stable with some architectural detail.
