Description
Ivall's is a house dating from the 18th century, with early 19th-century additions and some small extensions from the 20th century. It features brick and flint walls topped with a roof that is primarily tiled, with some slate. The front of the house has a central block that is original, flanked by an early 19th-century extension to the west and a smaller 20th-century outshot to the east. The building is two storeys high and has a symmetrical arrangement of windows: one window on either side of the central block and three in total on the upper floor. The hipped roof has brick dentil eaves. The walls are constructed in Flemish bond brickwork, with the central section displaying horizontal flint bands that are all painted, cambered arches, and a cemented plinth. The early 19th-century sash windows are set in reveals, while the central doorway and the window above have been filled in with panels. The entrance features a half-glazed door within a plain frame, topped by a canopy.
On the west side, there are two windows on each floor and a central open porch dating from around 1900. The rear elevation also has two windows on each floor and a similar central open porch from around 1900. The rear walls are banded with flint and brick, featuring some older sash windows, and there is a single-storey projecting wing with a tile-hung gable and a 'Gothic' cast-iron casement. The minor 20th-century additions are in keeping with the overall style of the house.
