Description
Wyke Green Farmhouse is a house dating from the 18th century, with additions and alterations made in the early 19th and early 20th centuries. The front is rendered, but the north side is of brick, using English and Flemish bond patterns, with some flint work in the service wing. The roof is tiled, with brick dentil eaves to the front.
The house was built in two phases. The original 18th-century section is two storeys and has an attic. In the early 19th century, a front block was added, forming a double-pile house, with a symmetrical façade of three windows on the north-west side. This front block features 16-light sash windows in reveals, while other windows are casements. A 6-panelled door is set in a plain frame. The south-west (garden) elevation was remodelled in the early 20th century with the addition of large windows. A long service wing extends from the main house, incorporating a garage, stables, and a continuous roof. This wing also includes various utility openings, such as a hayloft door.
