Description

House. Dating from circa 1600, with later alterations in the 18th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of timber frame with painted brick walls, and has a tiled roof. Originally a lobby-entrance house with central fireplaces, the structure was extended in the 18th century as a timber frame to the south, and in the late 18th century to the north. A late 20th-century east wing was added alongside the road, creating an L-shaped building of one storey and an attic, with two storeys facing the roadway. The fenestration is irregular. A late 20th-century tiled roof features four small gabled dormers, with a half-hipped angle to the north-west. There are original chimney stacks. The west front displays exposed timber framing with painted brick infill. Some flint panels are visible in the walling at the north end. Casement windows are present, along with two boarded doors sheltered by a gabled canopy.
