Description
This is a barn located immediately north of the cottage at Combe House Farm, dating from the early 18th century. It features a weatherboarded timber frame set on a brick plinth, topped with a gable-ended roof covered in corrugated sheet steel. The barn has a three-bay layout with a central cart entrance on the west side. The exterior includes a central cart entrance with nearly full-height plank double doors, along with later double doors added to the right. Inside, the barn has a three-bay frame supported by jowled posts with straight braces leading to tie-beams. It features queen-post trusses with clasped purlins, intact common-rafter couples, and straight wind-braces. The wall framing consists of posts, long straight tension-braces, and studs.
