Description
Wyeford Farm House is an early 17th-century building with early 20th-century alterations. It is two storeys tall with an attic and features a symmetrical southeast elevation that has two wide bays and a narrow central bay. The house has a tiled roof with a central Tudor-style stack that has six diagonal flues on a rectangular base. The walls are made of red brick in English bond, showcasing toothing below an eaves fascia that merges with raised window surrounds. There is a first-floor band that connects with the ground-floor window surrounds, a high plinth, and four pilasters set in from each corner, topped with terra-cotta Ionic caps. The raised window surrounds include rubbed flat arches with narrow brick keystones and stone frames with chamfered reveals. This detailing extends to the other elevations, with toothing following each gable and a second-floor band. Each gable features a small attic window. On the entrance front, which faces northeast, there is a narrower bay with an oval arched recessed doorway beneath a projected panel. The windows are leaded, with one in the attic and three in some rooms, with some having two lights. A later extension maintains the general form of the house but features simpler details, including gabled dormers, Tudor-style stacks, and a half-timbered north wall.
