Description

Wigmore Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 16th to 17th centuries, which was refaced in the 18th century, with a 20th-century extension added to the north-west. The south elevation is of 17th-century English bond red brickwork, incorporating a first-floor string course. The remainder of the building is of 18th-century Flemish bond brickwork, identifiable by its use of blue headers. The roof is thatched, with a half-hip at the southern end and gables at the northern end, topped by a brick chimney stack. The farmhouse is one storey with attics. The east front features a single modern dormer and three modern casement windows with cambered surrounds. Two modern gabled thatched porches, supported on wooden piers, are present on the west front, along with one dormer, two casement windows and two further casements within the two-storey north-western extension. The interior is reported to contain 16th or 17th-century framing.
