Description

SU 6652 OLD BASING CROWN LANE 6653 22/37 26.4.57 Parker's Piece Barn (formerly listed as Barn immediately south-east of Parker's Farm House)

Late C17. Four bays with aisles on all sides, entrances at the second bay from the south, projecting on the west side. Timber frame with straight struts. Upper roofing and both ends of corrugated asbestos, hipped at the south, hip with a small gable at the north end; lower roof on the east side is of slate, on the west of tile, forming a gable (with weather-boarded front) above the projected entrance. Walling to aisles in old Basing bricks, in English bond, with ventilating slots above a high continuous plinth.
