Description

The Old Barn is a rectangular barn of 6 bays, dating from the 17th century, with additions from the early 19th century and modern alterations. The south-facing roadside elevation is built of old “Basing” bricks in English bond and features a high plinth, two tiers of now-filled ventilating slots, and buttresses flanking the former entrances. Slate covers the roof. The barn was converted into four flats in 1971. The north and end walls are cement rendered, and each bay contains triple-sashed windows set within concrete architraves. Modern entrances have been added to the rear of the building.
