Description
44 Wellington Square is an early 19th-century building featuring a stuccoed exterior with a rusticated ground floor. It has a segmental pediment adorned with a decorated tympanum and shell acroteria. The building includes string courses and a cornice at the third-floor level. It stands five storeys tall with a basement and is twelve windows wide. The windows are sashes with vertical glazing bars, and those on the second floor are set within moulded architraves with cornices on console brackets. The first floor features a large bowed French casement that opens onto a balcony, which is also bowed at the center, supported by brackets and decorated with a cast iron balustrade and slender columns that hold up a tent-shaped roof. The ground floor has a large three-light sash window and a left-hand round-headed doorway with a semi-circular fanlight and a panelled door. The property includes area railings.
