Description
46 Wellington Square is an early 19th-century building that features a stuccoed exterior, a parapet, and a slate hipped roof. It has a moulded cornice and string course, with pilasters adding to its architectural detail. The building is three storeys high with a basement and is two windows wide. The windows are sashes with glazing bars, and the first-floor windows are tall sashes that open onto a slightly bowed balcony supported by brackets. The balcony has decorative ironwork balustrades and slender columns that hold up a tent-shaped canopy with a moulded cornice. The left-hand doorway is topped with a rectangular fanlight. The property also includes a well-preserved basement area with railings featuring urn finials and large square openwork cast-iron piers at the corners, also topped with urn finials. All the listed buildings in Wellington Square form a group.
