Description

41 Old London Road is an 18th-century red brick house featuring a slate hipped roof. The building stands three stories tall and is two windows wide. It has large sash windows with glazing bars set in moulded cases. The ground floor includes a wide three-light bow window with sashes that also have glazing bars, topped with a moulded cornice. To the left of the bow window is a pilastered doorway with a cornice, a narrow rectangular fanlight, and a fielded-panel door. A plaque on the front wall notes that this was the residence of the novelist and poet George Macdonald.
