Description

Gilbert Cottages, located on the north-west side of The Bourne, were built in 1852. These semi-detached cottages are constructed of red brick with blue headers and feature a low-pitched hipped slate roof with moulded eaves. The buildings are two storeys high and have two windows on the front, which are sash windows with glazing bars, plain painted sills, and flat brick arches above. There are plain doorways on both the left and right, also topped with flat brick arches. Central brick chimney stacks are present, and a small rectangular plaque on the first floor reads "Gilbert Cottages 1852."
