Description

The Cottages is a mid 19th century row of cottages located on the south side of London Road in Bourne End. Built in the "cottage orne" style, the cottages are constructed from whitewashed brick and feature a roof covered with patterned fish scale shaped tiles. The building has two large gabled brick dormers and tall chimneystacks. It is one storey high with attics and includes four casement windows that have glazing bars and are set under dripmoulds. There are three gabled rustic wooden porches, with the central porch being double width. The Cottages, along with Bourne Cottage and Nos 1 to 8 (consecutive), form a group.
