Description

The Cottages comprise a mid-19th century row of four cottages, one of two similar rows, built in a picturesque "cottage orné" style. They are constructed of whitewashed brick with a fish scale patterned tiled roof, featuring two large brick gabled dormers and tall chimneystacks. The cottages are one storey high with attics. Four casement windows, each with glazing bars, are set beneath dripmoulds. Three gabled porches, constructed of rustic wood, are present, the central one being double width. The Cottages, together with Bourne Cottage and numbers 1 to 8 inclusive, form a notable group.
