Description
This is a row of cottages dating from the late 18th century, situated on the west side of the High Street. The cottages are constructed of red brick with blue brick headers, and have a brick plinth. They have two storeys and moulded eaves with bracketed guttering. The roof is a mansard roof with half-hipped ends, featuring four flat-roofed leaded dormers and two ridge chimney stacks.
The ground floor of each cottage has one window and one door. The centre doors are paired, with panelled doors, flat projecting bracketed hoods, and access via two steps. Ground floor sash windows are set within flat segmental brick arches. The left-hand windows throughout retain their glazing bars, while the glazing bars have been removed from those on the left. The first floor contains six widely spaced sash windows. A window on the far left has an ornamental sunblind case. Two central windows are set within flat segmental brick arches, with a larger sash window to the right featuring a flat head. The end elevations to the north have painted weatherboarding on the first floor.
Numbers 7 to 11 (odd) form a group with the adjacent properties. The group value of this row reflects its contribution to the character of the street.
