Description
Stanhope Place, Nos. 1 to 14 (consecutive) including 7 Mews Road, is a group of buildings dating from around 1840. They are three stories tall, with two windows for each house, while the center three houses project slightly, featuring a total of six windows. The buildings are finished in stucco and have a stringcourse at the first floor cill level, along with a cornice and parapet. The windows are set within moulded architrave surrounds, with those on the ground and first floors (except for the first floor of No. 12) having segmental heads. Most windows are sashes with glazing bars, although No. 7 has casements on the first floor. The round-headed doorways are framed by moulded architrave surrounds and have semi-circular fanlights. Nos. 3, 4, 7, 8, and 10 to 14 feature moulded and panelled doors, while the others have later doors. The roofs are slate and hipped. Nos. 1 to 14 and 7 Mews Road are recognized as a cohesive group.
