Description
Old Dunnings is a cottage with a byre, now converted into one cottage, dating from the 16th and 17th centuries, with alterations and extensions made in the 20th century. The building features a timber frame with painted brick infill and has an old tile half-hipped roof, which is lower on the left side where the former byre was located. It has an L-plan shape consisting of four framed bays, with a 20th-century extension at the rear. The cottage is one and a half storeys tall and has a large chimney with an offset head positioned near the center of the ridge. The entrance front includes two ground floor windows on the left, a small gabled dormer, and a door located in a gabled porch on the right. The right side has a four-light casement window with a small gabled dormer above it. Inside, the timber frame is exposed, and there is an inglenook chimney.
