Description

SWALLOWFIELD CHURCH ROAD SU 76 NW (north-east side) 8/39 Dovecote, Swallowfield Park 4.9.69 G.V. II Dovecote and animal shed. Mid C18. Brick; slate and old tile on timber framing. Octagonal on plan, with arcaded glover. All round the dovecote is an open animal shed supported at its angles on timber posts with shaped brackets, and with a hipped old tile roof rising up to below eaves of dovecote. Above this the octagonal hipped slate roof of the dovecote rises to a ball finial.
