Description

Bartlett’s Farmhouse is a late 16th-century farmhouse that was extended in the 18th century. The farmhouse is constructed of brick with a plinth and a first-floor string, and has an old tile gabled roof with a chimney on the left side. It has two storeys and attics, with a rectangular plan and a catslide roof to the rear, and some timber frame elements are exposed.

The front of the farmhouse has five bays, with the three left-hand bays projecting slightly; the two bays on the right are in 16th-century brick. There are sash windows with glazing bars in architrave frames. The central entrance features a six-panelled door with a three-pane rectangular fanlight above, set within a doorcase of fluted Doric pilasters supporting an entablature with a dentil bed mould to the cornice hood. The entrance is approached by two stone steps.

The interior includes 18th-century panelling in the staircase hall and a room to the left, as well as in the principal bedrooms. The staircase has carved balusters and a moulded handrail.
