Description
Yew Tree Cottage is a cottage that dates back to the 15th century but was rebuilt in the 17th century. It features part timber framing with painted brick infilling and part painted brick construction. The roof is gabled and covered with old tiles, and it has flanking chimneys. The building has a rectangular plan consisting of two framed bays and is 1½ storeys high.
On the entrance front, there are three irregular bays with gabled dormers that have four lights, mullions, and transoms. The ground floor has two 18th-century casement windows. In the center bay, there is a ledged door that is sheltered by a 19th-century gabled porch. To the left of the door is an additional two-light casement window, and to the right is a single-light window, all featuring glazing bars.
Inside, the complete frame is visible, predominantly on the first floor, with a jowl post and truss from the 15th century still remaining.
