Description

Darvells Farmhouse is a house that dates from the 16th and 17th centuries, with a 20th-century extension added to the north. The exterior features painted roughcast on a timber frame and an old tiled roof that is gabled, with a cross gable on the right side. There are two chimneys and the building has two storeys. The windows and doors are scattered casement types, and there is an old fire insurance plaque on the east wall numbered 516462. Inside, most of the original timbers remain intact, and the joists in the 17th-century end bays are chamfered with stop ends.
