Description
The Cottage is a house dating from the late 16th century, originally designed as a hall house with a chimney added in the 17th century. It features two timber-framed bays in the original hall, which has since been floored, along with a two-bay service end. The roof is covered with old tiles and has a half hip on the south gable. The building stands two storeys tall, with some original timber framing visible on the west wall, while the other walls have been replaced with colour washed brick. The windows are from the 20th century, including an angled bay window on the ground floor and a 20th-century entrance door on the east front. There is also a 20th-century extension at the north end, which includes a flanking chimney. Inside, the roof displays many sooted timbers.
