Description

SWALLOWFIELD CHURCH LANE SU 76 NE (north east side) 9/29 Cattle Shelter adjacent to Old Parsons Cottage, 430 metres off Church Lane and to the north east II Cattle shelter. Late C15. Timber framed and weatherboarded, corrugated iron roof, half hipped on right. Rectangular plan of 3 bays with one bay to the left and 2 on the right which are C19 extensions. Fine frame in C15 part, heavy posts with jowls, most original rafters intact with rafter holes at feet; queen post trusses with clasped purlins and constant principal rafters. The tie beams are only 5'6" from floor level.
