Description

No 1 Castle Hill is a three-storey building that forms the corner of a block of 16th and 17th century houses, which were altered in the 18th and early 19th centuries. The building features mathematical tile elevations on a timber frame, with a parapet coping and a slate mansard attic. The upper floor has two revealed sash windows without glazing bars. The ground floor has been modernised for use as café premises, complete with a fascia. No 1 Castle Hill, along with Nos 47 to 50 High Street, is part of a group.
