Description
No. 10 Castle Hill is an early 19th-century building that features a front on a 16th or 17th-century timber frame, which is partially exposed on the east side. The building has three storeys and is finished in painted stucco with a parapet that has coping and a hipped slate roof. On the upper floors, there are four windows with flush framed two-light wood casements. The ground floor showcases a well-preserved mid-19th-century shop front, which includes a range of Corinthian pilasters supporting an entablature with a dentil cornice. This frames two arched shop windows and a central half-glazed door set in a segmental arched recess. To the right, there is a four-panel door and a canted bay window beneath the overhanging upper floors. Nos. 2 to 4 (consecutive) and Nos. 10 and 11 Castle Hill House form a group.
