Description

20 Park Street is a late 18th century building featuring three storeys and a basement. It is constructed of brick on a chamfered brick plinth and has a brick string course above the second-floor windows. The building is topped with a brick parapet that has stone coping and an old tiled roof.

On the upper floors, there are three windows with stone sills, while the ground floor has two windows and a six-panelled door on the left. This door is adorned with a rectangular fanlight that has radiating and concentric glazing. The doorcase is decorated with Doric pilasters, a broken architrave, a plain frieze, and a denticulated and moulded flat cornice. The pilasters rest on tall plinths and are accessed by three stone steps. There are also two blocked windows in the basement.

Nearby, Nos 21 and 22 have link value only. These buildings are modern but designed in a character that reflects the 18th century, featuring two storeys and an attic, brick construction, a bracketed cornice, and a tiled roof. Park Street Lodge, Nos 2 to 16 (consecutive), Nos 25 to 28 (local list only), the entrance to Black Lion Yard, Nos 20 to 24 (consecutive), the archway to Royal Mews, and Nos 29 to 35 (consecutive), along with Cambridge Lodge, Cambridge Gate, and Park Street, form a cohesive group.
