Description

Ann Foorde's House is a tall 18th-century building located on Park Street. It has three storeys, an attic, and cellars, constructed from red brick with a parapet featuring stone coping and an old tile mansard roof. The attic includes two casement dormer windows, while the upper floors have three windows. On the ground floor to the right, there is a late 19th-century rectangular moulded brick bay with a 12-light mullioned and transomed window and a moulded brick corbelled apron.

To the left, the entrance features a six-panelled door topped by a semi-circular radiating and wreathed fanlight, set in arched panelled reveals and approached by four stone steps. The doorcase is adorned with engaged fluted Doric columns that have cap mouldings around the reveals and the head of the door. The arch is framed by a small architrave and key block. Above, a broken entablature supports a modillioned cornice with guttae and a pediment. The frieze above the columns is decorated with roundels on all three faces. There is also a small window in the cellar. Ann Foorde's House is part of a group that includes Park Street Lodge, Nos 2 to 16 (consecutive), Nos 25 to 28 (local list only), the entrance to Black Lion Yard, Nos 20 to 24 (consecutive), the archway to Royal Mews, and Nos 29 to 35 (consecutive), as well as Cambridge Lodge and Cambridge Gate.
