Description
No. 8 Park Street is an 18th-century building that was heightened in the late 18th century. It has three storeys, with the ground floor finished in stucco and the first floor made of plum bricks, while the second floor and parapet are constructed from London stocks. The building features a projecting plinth and string courses above the ground floor windows and at the first floor cill level. The roof is covered with old tiles.
On the upper floors, there are three windows; the second floor windows are square, and the ground floor has two tall casement windows without glazing bars, each adorned with a moulded stucco panel underneath. To the right, there is a four-panelled door, with the bottom two panels being horizontal. A flat moulded hood supported by cut wood brackets sits above the door.
This building is part of a group that includes Park Street Lodge, Nos. 2 to 16 (consecutive), Nos. 25 to 28 (local list only), the entrance to Black Lion Yard, Nos. 20 to 24 (consecutive), and the archway at Nos. 29 to 35 (consecutive), as well as Cambridge Lodge, Cambridge Gate, and Park Street Gate.
