Description
The barn at Stroud Farm, located approximately 35 metres east of Stroud Farmhouse, dates back to the 15th century. It features a timber frame construction that is weatherboarded and topped with a corrugated iron roof, which has half hips and gablets. The barn has a gabled midstrey and a rectangular plan consisting of five large framed bays, with the central midstrey positioned on the west side. Inside, the barn showcases a fine original timber frame with large jowled posts, a queen strut roof supported by clasped purlins and reducing principal rafters. It also includes long arch knee braces and windbraces, with rafter holes visible in the feet of the rafters facing north.
