Description

Rowles Farm House is an early 19th-century farmhouse located on Main Street in West Ilsley. It is a rectangular building with lower wings extending to the north and west. The house is constructed of Roman cement and has a tiled roof. The south elevation features a lower block set back slightly from the main block, with a canted bay window. The main block has three sash windows and a central six-panel door, above which is a rectangular fanlight with interlacing curves set beneath a cast iron lattice porch. A string runs at the level of the first floor, above which is a cornice parapet, a blocking course, and flanking chimneys, as well as a chimney to the end of the west block.
