Description

Forge Cottage is an 18th-century cottage with an early 19th-century extension. It is located on the south side of Main Street, West Ilsley. The cottage is brick built, using red stretchers and grey headers, with a tiled roof. It has an L-shaped plan, with an outshut connecting the arms of the L. There are two storeys, and a single-storey extension to the south-east. A band runs along the first floor, and a stack is located on the north-east arm of the L.

The north-east elevation displays a later build to the left. It features two two-light casement windows on the first floor and three-light casement windows on the ground floor, all with cambered heads. A central boarded door is sheltered by a gabled hood.
