Description

Peartree Cottage is a cottage that dates from the 17th century and has 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of brick, render, and timber frame with brick infill, and features weatherboard on an adjoining shed extension. The cottage has a thatched roof, which is half hipped on the main structure, while the extensions have tiled and flat felt roofs. The building has a rectangular plan consisting of one framed bay, with a rear catslide and flat-roofed extensions, as well as a shed on the side. It stands one and a half storeys tall, with a dormer cut into the thatch at the front and a stack located at the rear corner.

On the west elevation, there are two-light casements with cambered heads flanking a central boarded stable-type door, which is sheltered by a simple hood supported by cut brackets. There is also a two-light casement in the dormer, positioned off-centre to the right, alongside a weatherboard and tiled shed to the right. The north elevation features exposed timber framing in the gable wall, which is partly obscured by the shed.
