Description

The range of farm buildings, including Keepers Cottage at Home Farm, dates from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. The structures are made of brick, timber frame, and weatherboarding, topped with plain tiled roofs. The long range of buildings runs from west to east and is primarily one storey high, featuring three tall ridge stacks on Keepers Cottage.

On the south elevation, starting from the west, there is a former grain barn with brick walls and ventilation slits beside a central gabled midstray that has a weatherboarded gable and boarded doors. To the east, there is a projecting gabled entry and four sets of garage doors. Keepers Cottage has a lower ridge line and features two casements with cambered heads, a projecting gabled wing with two casements on the gable, and a half-glazed entrance door under a flat hood located at the corner where the main building meets the wing. The 17th-century brick barn has a higher roof line and three casements.

On the north elevation, there is a long catslide roof at the rear of the 17th-century barn, with a wide entrance to the left, six casements, and two boarded doors. Keepers Cottage has three large cambered-headed casements and one small two-light casement. The barn to the west has long catslides flanking a central gabled former midstray, with weatherboarding to the right and four agricultural windows.

Inside, the barn to the west has five bays, with the two westerly bays supported by queen post trusses. The bays to the east contain redundant king post trusses with double butt purlins and carved wind braces.
