Description

This milestone, dating from the 18th century, is located on the west side of the A36 in East Ilsley. It is made of stone and features a flat top that has weathered over time. The stone is inscribed with distances to Newbury (10 miles), Ilsley (1 mile), Abingdon (10 miles), and Oxford (16 miles), along with the year 1776.
