Description

This milestone, dating from the 18th century, is located 6 metres south of the Post Office Stores on the east side of High Street in East Ilsley. It is made of stone and features a flat top that has weathered over time. The milestone is inscribed with distances to Newbury (9 miles), Abingdon (11 miles), and Oxford (17 miles), along with the date 1776.
