Description

This is a milestone dating from the late 18th century, located on the south side of Reading Road in Purley. It is made of white painted stone with black lettering and has a semi-circular section with a chamfered top. The top is inscribed with "OXFORD 23," while the side displays "WALLINGFORD 10" and "READING 5."
