Description
Corner Cottage is a house that was originally two houses, later converted into four cottages, and now functions as a single residence. The building dates from the mid 16th century on the left side and the 17th century on the right. It features a timber frame with white painted brick nogging and has an old tile roof that is hipped to the left. The ridge stack is off-centre to the left, while another ridge stack with an arched panel is off-centre to the right.
The structure has a former open hall consisting of three framed bays on the left and a lobby entrance type with two framed bays on the right. It is two storeys high and has seven leaded casement windows on the first floor, all of which have three lights except for the second, fifth, and sixth windows from the left, which have two lights. On the ground floor, there are six leaded casement windows, all with three lights except for a small one-light casement that is the fifth from the left. There are also four boarded doors with gabled hoods located between the first and second, third and fourth, and fifth and sixth windows from the left, as well as to the far right.
Inside, there is a 17th-century inserted floor in the two left-hand bays and a 17th-century inserted left-hand stack, along with contemporary fireplaces.
