Description
The Swan Hotel is a hotel that likely dates back to the 18th century, with alterations and extensions from the 19th and 20th centuries. It features a painted flint exterior with brick dressings and a plain tile roof, along with brick stacks. The building has an L-shaped plan and stands two storeys tall, with a three-window range.
To the right, there is a four-panel door that is accompanied by a possibly 19th-century open wooden porch with a tiled gabled hood. In the centre, there is a 20th-century eight-panel door located between the ground and first floor, accessed by 20th-century brick steps. A casement window is present on the first floor to the right.
The left cross-wing is two storeys high and has a three-window range on its right-hand return. There are 20th-century glazed doors to the right, and two 19th-century casements in the centre, with a door to the left. The first floor features two 3-light 19th-century casements in the centre and right, along with a 19th-century bow window to the left. The roof is hipped.
The interior has not been inspected, and there are 19th-century single-storey additions to the left. The hotel is located below street level, making the first floor of the cross-wing at ground floor level relative to the road.
