Description
The Black Horse Hotel is an 18th-century hotel that incorporates parts of a structure likely dating back to the 16th century, with 19th-century alterations. It features lined render, probably over brick, and has an old plain-tile roof that is hipped to the left, along with brick lateral stacks at the rear. The building is two stories tall and has a four-window range. There is a 20th-century door to the left of center, which has a flat hood supported by curved brackets. To the left, there are 20th-century three-light metal casements, and to the right of center, there are casements with 19th-century shaped surrounds. A two-light casement is located to the right. The first floor has 16-pane unhorned sashes, and the eaves are bracketed. Inside, the hotel features deeply moulded spine beams on the ground floor to the right, with a curved brace at the end that has cusped decoration.
