Description
Majors is a house that has been converted into a restaurant and dwelling. It features a front dating from the late 18th century, possibly added to an earlier structure. The building has a rendered brick plinth and is constructed of red brick with flared headers in Flemish bond. It has an old plain-tile roof and a rendered brick end stack on the left side. The house is two stories high and has a two-window range.
On the left, there is a sash door with a painted moulded architrave surround and cornice. To the right, there is a 12-pane unhorned sash window, also with a painted moulded architrave surround and cornice. There is an unhorned tripartite sash window with glazing bars, featuring a moulded surround with a segmental arched head and keystone in the center. A rendered fascia strip runs between the ground and first floors. The upper floor has two 12-pane unhorned sash windows, each with painted moulded architrave surrounds and cornices. The building is topped with a plain parapet that has a moulded stone coping. The interior has been converted into a 20th-century restaurant on the ground floor.
