Description
Chans Oxfam is likely two houses that have been converted into shops and dwellings. They date from the mid-18th century and feature late 19th-century shop fronts on the ground floor. The building is constructed of painted brick and has an old plain-tile roof. It stands two storeys high with an attic and has a four-window range. There are glazed doors on the left and to the right of the centre. The ground floor has plate-glass windows supported by thin columns and features richly carved scroll brackets at the ends of an angled fascia board between the ground and first floors. The first floor has four 16-pane unhorned sash windows, and there is a dentil course at the eaves. The attic includes three 20th-century flat-roofed dormers with 6-pane horned sashes. The interiors have not been inspected.
