Description
Church Cottages are two cottages located on Whitchurch Mill Road, likely dating from the 16th century with 19th-century alterations. They are constructed of brick, featuring some timber framing with brick infill, and have a plain tile roof with brick stacks. The cottages are two stories high and have a five-window range. There is a door to the left-hand return of a 19th-century porch positioned to the left of center. The windows display irregular fenestration with 19th-century leaded casements, including three 3-light casements in the center projection with a catslide roof, two 3-light casements to the right, a 2-light casement to the left of center, a 3-light casement to the left, and a 2-light casement on the first floor to the left. A hipped half-dormer is situated to the right of center, with a 2-light casement to the right. The roof has a half-hipped design with a half-hipped cross-gable to the left. There is a 17th-century brick ridge stack to the right and a 19th-century stack to the right of the center projection. The rear features timber framing. The interior has not been inspected. There is also a subsidiary 19th-century single-storey wing to the left with a 3-light casement.
