Description
The White Hart Hotel is an inn that likely dates from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of flint with brick dressings and features a plain tile roof and brick stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic, presenting a five-window range, with a probable 19th-century extension of two storeys and an attic in a similar style to the left. The central entrance consists of a six-panel double door with a moulded wood surround. To the right, there is a 19th-century straight-sided bay window. On the left, there are two 2-light wood mullion and transom windows, with matching windows on the first floor. The 19th-century extension includes one 2-light wood mullion and transom window. A flat roof on brackets is situated between the ground and first floor, and the building has coved wood eaves. There are three gabled full dormers, along with one gabled full dormer on the extension. At the rear, there are brick stacks.
Inside, the hotel has been altered but retains stop-chamfered spine beams. Adjacent to the hotel, there is a 17th-century cottage on the right, which is two storeys high and has a three-window range. It features a glazed four-panel door at the centre, a central blind panel on the first floor, and casements on all openings, with a brick stack at the right end.
