Description

The Sun Inn is a public house, dating to the 18th century, with alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of brick, with rendered surfaces, and has a plain old tile roof and brick end stacks. The building likely originated as a 2-unit plan structure, now presenting as a 2-storey, 2-window facade. A central 6-panel, part-glazed door leads to a gable-roofed porch, added in the 19th century. The upper floor has 3-light casement windows; the ground floor features 3-light casements and an angled bay window with a flat roof and sash windows on the right-hand side. A dentil cornice runs along the eaves. The roof is hipped on the right side. The left return wall was rebuilt in the 20th century. Some timber-frame construction survives inside the building.
